Well hello there…
The Rolling Edge started as a quiet notion…
After more than a decade of event work for clients like the Philadelphia Museum of Art and Opera Philadelphia, a new course slowly came into view in the wake of the pandemic.
My images were popping up in magazines, in an NPR piece for We Shall Not Be Moved by the iconoclast Bill T. Jones, and posters for event promotion both locally and abroad, but as often happens in life, well laid plans were splintered off into uncharted waters. Eventually though, the ground began to solidify underfoot again and The Rolling Edge, finally seemed to have wind in its sails...
I’ve always loved still images… whether it was the world views in a National Geographic or LIFE magazine, the photo on the wall at the Kennedy Space Center Visitor Complex in Florida of the moon landing, or groundbreaking ads in magazines like the two page spread of the Maxell Tape ‘Blown Away’ Ad by Photographer Steve Steigman in Rolling Stone in 1980, the David Yurman jewelry ads by photographer Peter Lindbergh, or the infinitely iconic images of artists like Miles Davis, Lady Day and so many others by William Claxton, Herman Leonard, Francis Wolff, William Gottlieb etc. Finally though, it was my trip thru Italy in 1986 with my parent’s trusty Yashica 35mm that helped me truly ‘find’ photography. By the time I was in China in 2009, the world had gone fully digital!
My name is Dave, and I’m the founder of The Rolling Edge Creative Studio.
I’m currently based just outside of the historic city of Philadelphia. I’m a single dad of an amazing adopted daughter, our rescued black cat, Kiki, from Providence Animal Shelter and my Galgo, Bonnie, who was rescued in Spain thru one of the Galgo rescues there and she’s my constant companion. Except for my daughter, who is the center of my universe, there’s no one I like hanging out with more… we go hiking and to the beach together, and we participate in events for sighthound awareness and adoption, and of course, she especially likes to keep me company when I’m cooking!
My goal for The Rolling Edge, is simple… create images that help entrepreneurs capture an audience.
To take this part of the process and deliver a finished product that allows a business owner to put their energy and expertise where it’s needed most.
Whether it’s images on one color, moody and dramatic, or anything else in between, I want to help you show, sell, and succeed!
